Enjoy your vacation in Santa Catarina at Guarda do Embaú Beach. It is located 40 kilometers south of Florianípolis (SC). Guarda do Embaú was considered twice "One of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil" by Terra magazine in January, 1996 and Viagem magazine in January, 2000. On the coast of Santa Catarina you can have the pleasure of watching the Franca Whale. That species is the second most threatened of extinction in world, there are only three thousand of them in our planet. Santa Catarina is 561 km long, holding an interspersed coast full of coves, inlets, and many beaches. Due to its relief, there are many beaches with difficult access, but rare natural beauty.

Frequently most young people from different states ( surfers, craftsmen and beautiful women in general) take a walk comfortably around the roads wearing sandals, shorts and t-shirts. Guarda do Embaú is a fishermen village, discovered to hold tourism and considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil by its natural beauty, distinguished by its excellence for surfing, by its own booty style and simplicity. Rio da Madre is a highlighted point, that must be crossed by canoe, guided by native people. Just this gives a special charming to the place. The river is also great for kayaking.  Who prefers not to cross the river, an option is to follow a track along the hill, where you can reach another beach called "Praínha", on the way it's found wonderful sceneries.

Besides the beaches and night life, there are options like walking up to the Morro do Urubú (hill), where you have a wonderful view, or you can track thru "Praínha" and follow the coast, cross the valley, grass, hills and reaches Praia de Cima (Pinheira). The walk can take one hour, including a wonderful view and different sceneries. Another great option is to know Cahoeira Zanela (falls), at Paulo Lopes, a neighbor city, after 20km driving, you get to the entrance (R$ 3,00 per person), there you can find a very pleasant area at the edge of a clear river, with a barbecue place, toilet and little snack bar. Next that, you can take a 50 minutes track, passing a preserved forest, crossing a river (by the bedrocks and a little water current) up to the falls, it's very beautiful, with a natural pool (deep), where the most adventurous can swim.
